
Completed a degree in Economic Regulation and development policies at Paris Higher Institute for Economic and Social Development Studies, along with a Master's degree in Economic and Social Administration from the University of Paris II and a diploma in Management of Development Projects from the Institute of International Management of Washington. Mouhamadou Lamine KANE began his career in France as a research officer in an investment bank focusing on Arab and French-speaking African countries before joining a World Bank programme to support the Government of Senegal in development management. In 1993, he joined the teams of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Planning, where he was in charge of the selection, programming and monitoring of public investments. He then became in 2002, the General Manager of a subsidiary of a Swiss group where he engaged in the trade and distribution of cereals in Senegal and in the sub-region. With these various experiences, he served as Chief Executive of a branch of the Swiss group "INTERVALLES" in charge of the preparation of a PPP project "development of Rice value chains in the Senegal River valley", then as technical advisor to the Ministry of Finance and Budget, responsible for formulating opinions on various subjects. Participatory management, integrity and a concern for accuracy are his major creeds. Environmental issues and the promotion of equity also represent for him priority areas of interest.
